The world of sports is so unique, and people have different interest and fascinations. From being a child I can remember watching the Red Sox and Celtics with my father and becoming a die hard fan for those teams due to my family being serious fans. Not only did watching those games turn me into a good New England fan but it also gave me some good quality time with my father and brothers.      The movie we watched showed all the emotions that can come from sport. Whether it would be a gratifying moment with a win for your team, or a devastating moment with a loss. That is what makes you grow when you are a younger kid growing up. A kid who can handle a loss in his life with the same dignity as a win will become a better person in the future.      In class discussion we talked about how in today’s age younger kids do not have the same interest to get involved in sports as they used to. It seems that today younger kids are more interested in playing video games, then to take part in a sport and learn the team aspect of life and how to get along with each other and work as a team. Learning in sports is something people do not understand unless you are a true athlete. In the game of baseball there is so much silent communication not everyone knows about. You have nine men on the field who have the same mind set and that is to do anything you can to win this game and help your teammates. If a kid can learn this at a young age and carry this on with him through life, he will become that much of a better worker when he is at the office or wherever they might be.      We also discussed the role of women in sports and that is a uniqueness in its self. Girls sports are becoming more of a interest to the public then it once had. This is in direct relation to the U.S Woman Soccer championship game over China. Florida’s Comprehensive Assessment Test or FCAT is an important segment of Florida’s general scheme to augment the accomplishments of students through the implementation of more advanced education standards. In general, the FCAT is given to individual students ranging from Grades 3 to 11 and includes two primary parts. One of the essential goals among various learning institutions, especially among teachers, is to make the students know more and appreciate the content of the courses or school curriculum. This furthers their rational thinking and assists them in obtaining learning skills that do not simply fade away with human forgetfulness. Further, the primary goal of teaching the students in order for them to pass the FCAT appears to be a wrong approach to education in general. On the other hand, teaching students with the curriculum mandated by the state reinforced with additional self-reliance for research and gathering data from a wide array of sources can make them surpass the FCAT and other scholarly tests with flying colors. Although the research will probably create more questions than solutions, nevertheless the research is substantial in terms of providing another means in uplifting the quality of education received by students. Dante s Divine Comedy An Allegory Representative Of The...
Often, we cannot see the good in something until we’ve experienced the bad. Dante Aghileri, a poet who stars in his Divine Comedy as a pilgrim, finds himself lost in a dark wood. Though he sees a safe path to the light and out of the wood, he is forced to take an alternate route through an even darker place. The Divine Comedy is an allegory representative of the Christian soul. As the ending is bright and hopeful for Dante, Aghileri spreads that the ending for even the most sinful Christians can be as hopeful as dante’s, provided that they take the steps needed to achieve salvation. Thus, Dante the pilgrim goes to hell to better understand the nature of sin and its consequences in order to move closer to salvation, his journey an representing that of the repenting Christian soul. Before Virgil arrives to guide Dante on his journey, Dante shares that he doesn’t recall how he lost his way. He tells â€Å"How I entered [the dark wood] I cannot truly say, I had beco me so sleepy at the moment when I first strayed, leaving the path of truth†(Inferno I.10-12).
